Design That Matters, Media Lab, MIT, Cambridge, MA
This group of multi-disciplinary students and faculty is engaged in building innovations and leveraging technology to strengthen communities across the world. Within the Power of Love projects, the DTM team has worked to design patient data-management systems appropriate for community clinics.
Architecture Department, MIT, Cambridge, MA
Under the leadership of Prof. Jan Wampler, teams of students are building designs for low-cost, efficient hospices to be constructed in Lusaka, Zambia.
School of Public Health, Harvard, Cambridge, MA
Under the direction of Prof. Saidi Kapiga, Ms. Charlotte Kang is helping design and develop and innovative training curriculum and program for Family Care Givers and Community Health Workers in Zambia.
Brightwood Clinic, Springfield, MA
One of the leading community-based medical centers in the US, Brightwood is working with large numbers of HIV positive patients in resource-poor settings. For over a decade the team at Brightwood has been working and developing innovative ARV regimens and case-management models for sustained patient management.
Foundation For Women, San Diego, CA
This group is an innovative foundation dedicated to nurturing, educating and supporting women around the world. They have a proven track record of success in launching and managing microfinance programs targeted toward women in developing countries.
Teams from the Foundation for Women will help build and train microfinance programs targeted toward grandmothers, widows and caregivers in the target communities in Zambia.
