Dear Project Mosquito Net,
I am eleven years old and my mom reminded me that it is good to donate some of my allowance to a charity. When I was at VBS (vacation Bible school) over the summer we heard about some members of the Church who donated money to get nets and then some of them went to Africa to drop off the nets! Thanks to that I knew that there was a program that did this. When I went to google and found your website I was so excited to see that the ten dollars I was going to donate would actually buy a net and save a child's life!
Thank you for this great opportunity!
Sincerely,
Hannah
Project Mosquito Net is an innovative program that provides long lasting insecticide treated nets to children and expectant mothers - the two sections of society most vulnerable to Malaria. Malaria is a leading cause of death for children under 5 years of age despite the fact that it is a curable and preventable disease. Every year 300-500 million cases of Malaria are reported globally resulting in more than a million deaths. Around 90% of these deaths occur in Africa, mostly in young children.
Over the last 5 years POL has distributed over 10,000 mosquito bed nets, and our goal is to distribute 2500 nets before the next Malaria season. Please donate generously at www.poweroflove.org, so that we can continue to educate mothers and caregivers of children on Malaria prevention and distribute long lasting insecticide treated nets to children and expectant mothers vulnerable to Malaria in Zambia and Kenya.
Happy Holidays.
The Power of Love team
