Dear Power of Love Friend: I hope this email finds you well and you have been enjoying these last few days of summer before they slip away!
This month, we at Power of Love find ourselves part of an exciting challenge, and together we can win. Power of Love has been recognized by Global Giving, an umbrella organization of high-impact non-profits and is now participating in a Global Giving Challenge. We need fifty unique donors to give $10 to Power of Love at http://www.globalgiving.org/projects/project-mosquito-nets/. If we're able to hit that 50 mark and $4000, all our programs will become a part of Global Giving's permanent list of programs. Please spread the word, forward this email, refer people to speak with us! Given below is a story of Febby Tembo, touched by POL's project mosquito nets in Zambia. Together we can help hundreds of women like her.
Febby is an extraordinary person - a 49 year-old woman with early onset of arthritis, care-taker to twelve other people at home including her son Lawrence, who is HIV positive. Febby lives in the Chunga area in Lusaka, Zambia. In Chunga, the sewage system is poor if existent and most of the pipes are broken or blocked. This causes them to leak. These ruptured pipes and the sewage they spill have rendered Chunga a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Malaria is endemic.
Febby and her family have struggled with repeated bouts of malaria. When she finally visited Power of Love's clinic she was diagnosed, given malaria medication and a mosquito net. Sleeping under an insecticide-treated net prevents malaria - simple as that. And what's more two people can share one net. Since then, she hasn't been sick. In her health and renewed energy, she has resumed caring for her family and friends. She is now more aware of the signs of malaria and is working to get nets to more of her community folks.

Malaria by itself is preventable, but if Febby's son Lawrence contracts it he is in much more danger. His immune system suffers because he is HIV-positive and so for him, this preventable disease can be fatal. If he contracts malaria, Lawrence is not likely to withstand the additional infection and he may die.

Please share this e-mail with two other people who will also donate $10 to the program. You have no idea the world of a difference that three people can make. Please help us hit that 50 mark!
Thank you for love and support. May PEACE be with you always!!
