February 2019 - A New Malaria Vaccine Has Been Tested Successfully

Dear Power of Love Friend: Happy February! Here is some heartwarming news from researchers: scientists at the University of Copenhagen have successfully tested a new vaccine for malaria. In a study published in the scientific journal Clinical Infectious Diseases, the vaccine completed phase one clinical trial, and results are promising. The vaccine is safe to use, and can prevent malaria during pregnancy. It will take several more tests before the vaccine is available on the market. Until then, sleeping under a mosquito net is the most effective and cheapest methods of preventing malaria (as per World Health Organization guidelines).

Please help raise funds to provide 10,000 mosquito bed nets this year, so we can keep 40,000 children or 20,000 adults malaria free. Your donation of $10 will provide two nets that can prevent malaria for a family of two adults and four young children. Every dollar counts and helps keep orphans and vulnerable children malaria free. As always, 100% of your donations go towards programs and no part is used for overheads.
