May 2019 - A New Malaria Vaccine is Here

Dear Friend: Happy May! Here is some heartwarming news: the world's first malaria vaccine will be provided to 360,000 children in Malawi, Kenya and Ghana. According to the World Health Organization, this vaccine is a "complementary malaria control tool" to be used in addition to insecticide treated bed nets, indoor spraying and prompt treatment. Even though the vaccine offers only partial protection, it is a step in the right direction.

The WHO recommends sleeping under a mosquito bed net in addition to using this vaccine. Please help raise funds to provide 10,000 mosquito bed nets this year, so we can keep 40,000 children or 20,000 adults malaria free. Your donation of $10 will provide two nets that can prevent malaria for a family of two adults and four young children. Every dollar counts and helps keep orphans and vulnerable children malaria free. As always, 100% of your donations go towards programs and no part is used for overheads.
