October 2019 - Help Strengthen Vulnerable Families

Dear Power of Love Friend: As Zambia enters the early summer months and temperatures start to rise, power cuts have become normal and economic conditions remain challenging. The dearth of rainfall has restrained agricultural and hydro power output since the beginning of 2019, and pushed up inflation to a near three-year high. Zambia is the fourth largest copper producer in the world and rich in natural resources. Yet, 60% of its people live below the poverty line and 42% are extremely poor. The high prevalence of HIV, TB and malaria makes it difficult for most Zambians to break the cycle of low income and education.

At this time, we have more than 2000 vulnerable families that benefit from one or more of our programs. Please donate generously to support these families so they can eat three meals a day, access health care services, and pay for school expenses for their children. Every dollar counts and helps us strengthen the community. And, as always, 100% of your donations go towards programs and no part is used for overheads.
