Clean Cooking Stoves
This mission of this innovative program is to improve the quality of life of vulnerable families by improving their health and saving them money in fuel costs. This will be achieved by the provision of clean cooking stoves that are environmentally friendly, produce less smoke, use cheaper fuel, cook food faster and are Zambian recipes friendly.
Over the last 18 months, 8,100 clean cooking stoves were provided to vulnerable families in Zambia. Families love their new stoves as the stoves keep them warm, cook food faster, and save money on fuel. These stoves are built using patented air regulation, technology, minimize CO, PM, and greenhuse gas emissions leading to better health, savings, climate change mitigation, and everyday convenience. We expect to see a significant improvement in the health of families, due to reduced smoke inhalation, in the next few months. Further, families are encouraged to use their new stoves to generate an income by cooking food to sell.
This project was launched in April 2020. To date, 8,100 clean cooking stoves and education on proper use was provided to vulnerable families living in impoverished neighborhoods in Zambia.
Our plan is to provide 20,000 clean cooking stoves by the end of 2021. This will benefit more than 100,000 family members as the average household size is about five.
